RACHEL LETT

Also known as turmeric latte, this is a soothing hot drink to calm the nervous system. Creamy and gently spiced, this is a great alternative to coffee, that wont give you the jitters. Easy to digest, you can enjoy this drink at any part of the day. The black pepper aids the absorption of turmeric, but also lends a lovely heat to the drink — please feel free to omit if it's not your cuppa, though!
Golden Milk
SERVES 1
1 cup of organic raw whole milk or unsweetened almond milk
2 cardamon pods
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated or ground ginger
pinch of fresh grated nutmeg
a dash of vanilla extract (no sugar)
grind of black pepper
Optional for sweetness
stevia or raw organic honey to taste
Ingredients
Using the side of a knife, gently crush and break the cardamon pods. Add to a saucepan, along with almond milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla, whisk to combine.
Over a medium heat, gently bring the milk to simmer.
Adjust to your taste with sweetener of more spice and serve.
